Ring Stoves customer services and get them to check with technical support (which are in a corner of the same room as them). The GRF may be discontinued (as stoves want to get rid of this cooker as soon as poss) but I believe that the fan cover for the later GRa and possibly even the later than that GR ovens will retro fit. The problem of rusting is not something I would have put down to caustic cleaning products, the back panels were notorious for the screws getting rusty/siezed. Your ser no tells me that your oven was built in Nov 99 and seeing as these were built to order your oven will have been either a return, ex display or graded if you bought it 2 years later, GRF's were just about the most unreliable product I have ever heard of from any company ever unfortunately. Sorry for the large content but I would welcome your comments. I don’t think I shall buy another Stoves or another gas fan assisted oven. I previously had a Cannon freestanding cooker over thirty years old which when cleaned came up like new. I have seriously considered using the services of “Professional Oven Cleaning Companies” and their non-toxic cleaning solutions, but do not like to pay for something that I can reasonably do myself, does anyone have experience of these methods? Muscle harm these or is it poor quality chroming? To add insult to injury when phoning customer support at Stoves I have been told that the fan cover is now discontinued and obsolete and so this must also apply to the whole DO unit although only seven years old approx., also the racks and side runners are going rusty does Mr. There is quite a lot of condensation build up if the door is closed straight after cooking has finished. later the same fan cover is split in three places and the edges burnt away with the posts again rusty and yet no caustic cleaning agent has been used to date. 91102277, bought about 2001 which is very difficult to clean, the cleaning instructions stated nothing stronger than washing up liquid could be used anywhere inside or void the guarantee, the oven walls are very thin and its possible to “pop” them quite easily, in mid 2004 it became necessary for a new bottom oven cavity to be fitted with a new fan cover ,posts and screws due to rusting, the engineer blamed the rusting on the use of caustic soda, ie. This is my first post here, I have been reading the comments from “the Chimp”, I too have a Stoves built in Gas Double Rotostar Oven and Grill – Q720 GRF DO, Model no. If only you had asked on here first, I am an ex stoves technical engineer and could have saved you finding out the hard way.
